Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how XMR Wallet ("we", "us", "the app") handles information when you use the XMR Wallet application for iPhone, iPad, and Mac ("the Service"). XMR Wallet is a self-custodial Monero wallet. The app is designed so that we have no access to your funds, keys, addresses, or transaction history.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Your recovery phrase, private keys, view keys, or wallet files.
  • Your Monero addresses, subaddresses, balances, or transaction history.
  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or government identifiers.
  • IP addresses, device identifiers, or advertising identifiers.
  • Behavioral analytics, usage telemetry, or marketing data.

The app has no user accounts and operates without any backend servers under our control that hold your wallet data.

2. Information Stored On Your Device

The following information is generated and stored locally on your device, encrypted by iOS, iPadOS, or macOS, and protected by the Secure Enclave when supported:

  • Your 25-word recovery phrase, private keys, and view keys.
  • Your wallet cache, subaddresses, contacts, and labels.
  • Your transaction history retrieved from the Monero network.
  • Your app preferences (display currency, language, node selection).

This data never leaves your device through us. If you choose to back up your device to iCloud, Apple's services may include app data in encrypted form according to Apple's privacy practices. You can disable iCloud backup for the app at any time in iOS Settings.

3. Network Connections

To send and receive Monero, the app communicates with the Monero peer-to-peer network. By default, network requests are routed through the built-in Tor client to hide your IP address from remote nodes. You may also configure your own node.

When you query market prices, the app fetches data from a public market data provider. These requests can be disabled in Settings. When enabled, the provider may log standard server-level information such as IP address; we do not control their policies. You may route price requests through Tor in the app's settings.

4. Children's Privacy

XMR Wallet is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from children. The app is rated accordingly on the App Store.

5. Third Parties

XMR Wallet contains no third-party advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no trackers. The app does not share data with third parties for marketing or profiling purposes.

6. App Tracking Transparency

XMR Wallet does not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies, and does not request authorization under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.

7. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal data, we have nothing to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control of your wallet data on your device at all times. You can erase all app data by deleting the app from your device.

Where applicable laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA grant you rights over personal data, those rights apply to data held by us; as we hold none of your personal data, there is nothing for us to process under such requests.

8. Security

Wallet secrets are stored in the iOS, iPadOS, or macOS Keychain with hardware backing where supported, and protected by Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID, or your device passcode. The strength of your device passcode and the safekeeping of your recovery phrase determine the security of your funds.

9. Changes

If we update this policy, the new version will be made available in the app and on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

10. Contact
